Asbestos Awareness
The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, duty holder and employee responsibilities and asbestos surveys.
Asbestos Containing Materials – friability, controlling exposure, asbestos related diseases, smoking, Workplace Exposure Limit, respiratory protective equipment and health surveillance.
Emergency Procedures – EM1, what to do if illness occurs, fire procedures, what to do if a hazardous substance is released and what to do if there is an asbestos leak.
Course Locations

This course is aimed at anyone who may come in contact or be working in an environment were Asbestos may exist it gives delegates information and instructions on how they need to avoid work that may disturb asbestos during any normal work which could disturb the fabric of a building, or other item which might contain asbestos. It will not prepare workers, or self-employed contractors to carry out work with asbestos-containing materials.

Understand the ill health-effects Asbestos can have, Understand the measures needed to eliminate or reduce the risks from asbestos.
Know what the responsibilities of employers and employees are under health and safety law.
Understand the necessary emergency procedures.

This is a half day course

Delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.
Middlesbrough, York & Newcastle

The course lasts five days and is taken over 5 consecutive days. During the course, candidates must pass core exercises. At the end of the training, they must sit an examination in order to qualify for the certificate.
