Course Locations

SSSTS is an abreviation of Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme the course is aimed at Site Supervisors or anyone who has responsibility of looking after a group of operatives, to attend this course you must have a good command of English, be working actively in this role or progressing towards it.
So whats the next step?
Following completion of this course and after gaining experience in the role of a supervisor the natural progression would be to go on and work towards the role of a Site Manager this would entail taking the 5 day SMSTS Site Managers Safety Training Scheme, aternatively, you could stay in the supervisory role and after 5 years complete the 1 day refresher course.

This course is aimed at supervisors moving into this position, or anyone already undertaking this role after passing this course the delegates should have a definitive understanding of their roles and responsibilities with regards to health and safety in the workplace and how they have a legal and moral responsibility to look after their workforce including others who may be affected by their undertakings.

The course lasts 2 days, during the course, candidates must pass core exercises. At the end of the training, they must sit an examination in order to qualify for the certificate.
Core exercises:
Legislation covering the Health & Safety at Work act 1974 CDM 2015, Management regs 1999 etc
Health & Safety statistics, typical hazards within the construction industry and what causes them including preventative measures.
How to do a Risk Assessment
Presentation of a toolbox talk as a group exercise
Explanation of approved codes of practice and guidance

This course is spread out over 2 consecutive days

Delegates who complete the course will need to do a multi choice exam on the last day this will determine if they have passed, on passing, the delegates will receive a certificate within 2 weeks.
Middlesbrough, York & Newcastle

The course lasts five days and is taken over 5 consecutive days. During the course, candidates must pass core exercises. At the end of the training, they must sit an examination in order to qualify for the certificate.
